the present Armament Depot at Hong Kong.
In the circumstances My Lords will not press
for immediate payment of the contribution which was
due under the terms of the letter in the financial
year 1932, but hope that the Colonial Government will
agree to make the payment towards the end of the
financial year 1934-5.
Their Lordships would raise no objection,
however, to the amount of dollars equivalent to £5,000
sterling being withheld beyond that time, if necessary,
pending a settlement of the question of the aerial
ropeway, as mentioned in the final paragraph of
Admiralty letter CEinc. 011/33/468b dated 31st March, 1933.
I am to state that if payment can be assented
to, My Lords hope to adjust the finances of the Navy
Works Vote accordingly.
I am, Sir,
Your obedient Servant,
